Grab space and keep Black cramped. Be ready for ...Bf5 and the ...c5 break.

Fianchetto the bishop early and aim for ...d5 in one move. Watch out for the Maroczy Bind with c4.

White wants a big pawn center with d4. Hit back at once with ...Nf6 or ...d5 before it is built.

The flexible ...a6 waits to see White's setup. Be ready for the English Attack, Bg5 and Be2 systems.
